Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:1-8
Grandma died at 4am Tuesday morning. It was a good week. Hard, and exhausting, but good. We all got to say our goodbyes and we were at peace when she passed away. It was a relief, now we know she isn’t suffering. Dad and I went through albums and albums of pictures of her to hang for the funeral. That was a fun time, remembering all the crazy things we did together. I think the funeral will be a great celebration of her life.
Tuesday morning we also took Kali to the airport so she could fly off to California and begin her DCO internship. Already she loves the people. Hurray! I don’t think she loves the heat, but she adapts pretty well. I had a great time with her this last week.
So I’m back in Fairbanks. Not quite ready to jump head-first into work. Still reflecting and feeling a little fragile but it does feel good to get back into the swing of things.
Thanks to everyone for prayers & support.
