Andy & I moved this weekend. We are in a smaller apartment in town. It’s a pretty sweet little place. Think 1970’s basement with wet bar. Awesome. It’s just nice to be settled in. I’m also only 5 minutes from work so I will hopefully be late less often.
The trip to the Gulf Coast was incredible. One of the youth said this “It was nothing like what I expected, but it met all of my expectations.” That pretty much sums it up. We didn’t get to rebuild houses like we thought, but we did get to pack up food bags and deliver them to people in Biloxi. It was incredible. People are starving, homes are unlivable, and for some there is no hope of recovering. Wow. But we did see God working in amazing ways. We got to pray with a woman who had just lost her son because of a drunk driver. It was incredibly intense, but like one of the girls said “Did you feel the Holy Spirit working?” ABSOLUTELY! It was awesome to meet immediate needs that people had.
Summer solstice is coming on the 21st and in Fairbanks that means fun times. There is a big festival downtown and there is, of course, the Midnight Sun Run that begins at 10 or 11pm. There is also the late night Fairbanks Gold Panners game (outdoor baseball game with no field lights). I can’t wait! It will be a good time no doubt!
